Photographer Antti Viitala lives in South Africa and that’s good because it’s her favorite subject to photograph wild nature, specifically the animals of the jungle.
But it has a special way of making these pictures. Like a Jeff Cremer approaching closer to the animal, Antti Viitala especially captures details that seem almost unusual. A very wrinkled skin of an elephant, an inordinately long eyelash, twisted fingers of a chimpanzee or so strange relief the body of a giraffe.
If one identifies animals well, the result is strange, as if it was facing a new species coming from another planet.
