These are Antique/Vintage test beakers with a galvanized carrier used to test for the content of fat in milk. Fat was where the top value was, and creameries could not purchase milk in volume alone. They needed a way to test for the fat content of the milk. Farmers would also use this information to properly feed their cows.
Early 1900’s Babcock devised a test that would mix a small amount of milk with sulfuric acid in these thin neck beakers they would be placed in a centrifuge–the fat would rise to the top of the beaker and measured.
