“A Thing of Beauty” is a photographic series of small and locally sourced objects which are creatively arranged by color. All the objects used for the purpose of this work are handpicked from hundreds of thrift shops and dollar stores throughout Singapore, making each installation a kind of anthropological documentary of things we collectively own.
Thing of Beauty is a bold celebration of the everyday and ordinary. The work aims to challenge common canonizations of what we find beautiful and helps us see a bit of ourselves in the things we keep.
