German designer Klaus Geiger, worked upon their release in 2003, with Power Mac G5 computer which inaugurated an all-aluminum design that Mac Pro keep until the release in 2013 of the new Mac Pro cylindrical model. As they were obsolete (like every computer after 10 years of services…), Klaus started collecting those Mac Pro close to him. His idea? The BENCHMA®C project: turn these carcasses into design objects, after all the original technological purposes were completely removed.
He made the bench with a wooden board combining two PowerMac that act as the foot. The profile of the timber was carefully worked to aligns the curve perfectly with the shape of the Power Mac chassis. Beyond benches, Geiger also has crafted a movable conference table, file cabinets and more using discarded Power Mac machines.
Beautiful work, as the Mac Pro was :)
