Even if you’re not a die-hard steampunk fan, you’ll still be able to appreciate the incredibly fine and meticulous craftsmanship that goes into Susan Beatrice’s miniature steampunk artwork. Beatrice recycles or “upcycles” old watch parts, turning them into fantastical artistic creations that are brimming with industrial-era Victorian mythos.
Part of the appeal of her work is her ability to pull elegant and organic forms out of rigid and lifeless machinery. Gears, ratchets, and other miniature technical watch innards are skillfully crafted into a horse’s neck, a graceful woman, or even a lion’s face. Some of the pictures showcasing the artist’s work feature her hand, which highlights on just how small of a scale she works.
Susan Beatrice runs a blog, All Natural Arts. It’s definitely worth visiting, as these steampunk creations are only a few of the many diverse and eclectic works that the artist has created. She can also be found on Facebook.
As always, great work.
Looks like a very nice Slinky dog in there!
Where do you find the parts? Awesome
Do you mind telling me what you use to put it all together with do you weld it or glue it, or screw it together? Always wanted to try this and have been wanting to know what people use for assembling these cute critters?
That’s what is worth seeing. My childhood memories are full of them, where did they come from?
