Librarians Attempt A Kardashian-inspired Photoshoot, And The Result Is Even Better Than The Original

Marking the first decade of their TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the family has posed for the cover of Hollywood Reporter. After seeing it, these librarians decided it would be funny to somehow channel it with a library spin. “To celebrate, our social media team decided to have a totally impromptu, definitely not planned, photo-shoot.” the staff of Invercargill City Libraries and Archives (New Zealand) wrote in their Facebook post.

“We picked that photo to spoof because it’s iconic and also we thought how funny would that look with ordinary people in it,” Bonnie Mager, the library’s digital and communications manager told BuzzFeed. “We decided the boys needed to be in the most sexualized positions, for both humor and to show how silly it would be to pose males like that,” Mager said. “The girls just went with who had the most accurate clothing to match those people.”

Their post has accumulated over 8,000 likes in just a few days, and for their tiny Facebook page, the numbers are crazy. Major publishing companies are covering the parody, and their readers have clearly made up their mind who wore it better. “I’d prefer to see the Librarians,” one commenter said. “The librarians win this,” concluded another.
