Fantastic old bus stops from the Soviet era photographed by Christopher Herwig who has spent 2 years traveling over 18,000 miles by car, bike taxi, and even bus in Russia. Sitting on the side of quiet roads, these bus stops stand as monuments to a bygone era, featuring outlandish designs.
I’d never seen such a variety of creative expression applied to a public structure before. The designers pushed the limits of their imaginations. They did not hold back and sometimes, maybe, even they went too far!
