Tokyo-based Japanese artist Haroshi is well known for creating three-dimensional sculptures from repurposed skateboard decks as his primary material. This horse sculpture is part of his new exhibition at Jonathan LeVine Gallery, titled “Still Pushing Despite the Odds“, a show that features new works by Haroshi.
The innumerable decks appear to fit together seamlessly and Haroshi allows their differing colors to serve as his palette, creating mosaic-like patterns that do not require paint or pigment.
