Part of an airport base in the Ukraine, this old airplane has been repurposed as a giant slide for those who want to experience what it’s like to evacuate an aircraft during emergency procedures.
This old Tupolev Tu-124 jet has been mounted on giant poles that keep it fairly high off the ground. Children have to climb a long, twisting staircase in order to get into the hangar and then they must close their eyes and plunge down the dark tube slide until they make it safely out the other end. Such playground equipment should be part of every pilot’s training in order to make sure they don’t have any fear of heights.
